Molecular biology laboratory

In the molecular biology laboratory, investigations are carried out at the level of DNA, RNA and proteins, aimed at identifying and quantifying the pathogenic and parasitic species considered and to highlight the effect of experimental treatments on the expression of the genes of the animals raised.

In particular, we study:

- Identification of parasitic species and DNA quantification of pathogenic microbial species, by PCR and ddPCR techniques

- the different expression of genes determined in relation to the applied experimental theses, through the technique of qPCR (quantitative PCR or real-time RT-PCR). The gene expression can be analyzed in different tissues such as: muscle, adipose tissue, ruminal epithelium, spleen, kidney, skin, etc.

- the different expression of proteins examined in relation to the applied experimental theses, using the ELISA technique, SDS-PAGE and Western-Blot . Protein expression can be analyzed in different animal tissues.
