Sustainable Pig Production Chain

Investigating the potential success of different traditional Trentino food specialties deriving from pigs reared with high standards of animal welfare, verifying their environmental and economic sustainability, was the goal of the operating group "Sustainable pig production - Enhancement of traditional Trentino food products through certification of animal and environmental welfare ".

The project was coordinated and conducted by the Trentino Salami Producers Consortium of Trento, in collaboration with the Animal Production Research Center - CRPA Spa of Reggio Emilia, the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Milan, the Provincial Breeders Federation of Trento, some transformation companies and butchers in Trentino, and financed by the Autonomous Province of Trento with measure 16.1.1 of the Rural Development Program 2014/2020
