In the chromatography laboratory, analysis are carried out on matrix of animal and vegetable origin, in order to study the relationships between experimental treatment and product quality.
Preparations are carried out with analytical methods based on separative techniques with the use of solvents; and afterward, gas chromatography and mass spectrometry systems are used to determine the absolute and percentage content of analytes.
The laboratory is equipped with manual extraction systems and an automatic system (Accelerated Solvent Extractor, ASE) of gas chromatographic systems (GC FID) and spectrophotometric systems (GCMS with ion trap and GCMS with quadrupole)
In particular, determinations deal with methyl esters of fatty acids, free fatty acids, phospholipids, cholesterol, terpenic compounds and aromatic compounds.
