The NMR 400 AVANCE III HD BRUKER instrument has been inaugurated

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer

On 21 January 2018 the NMR spectroscopy instrument had been inaugurated at the Department of Food, Environmental and Animal Sciences (DI4A), in the presence of the university authorities, teachers and technicians.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is an analytical technique that allows to obtain detailed information on the structure of the molecules under examination, observing the behavior of atomic nuclei in a magnetic field.

The tool allows to have qualitative and quantitative information on the nature of the compounds in analysis, so the applications can concern the food, chemical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical sectors.

This prestigious instrument is managed by Prof. Daniele Zuccaccia, of the chemistry section, and by the technician Paolo Martinuzzi.

During the inauguration, the desire to collaborate with all those working in the food sector of the DI4A Department emerged.
